Information - Purpose & Rules

Purpose of an Institute

The purpose of a Rotary International Institute is to:

1. Inform accurately all current and past Rotary International (RI) officers concerning the policies and programs of RI, including those of its Foundation;
2. Promote support for these policies and program while also soliciting suggestions for improvements and innovations;
3. Inform the RI Board of successful program developments at the zone level which the RI Board may want to consider for further development;
4. Inspire, motivate, and inform governors about leadership;
5. Provide a forum for learning, discussion and inspiration, which will engender fellowship, and a team spirit among all participants.

Participants are limited to past, current and incoming RI officers unless by specific invitation. A representative of The Rotary Foundation shall attend to achieve the objects of The Foundation and update the knowledge of attendees.

Rotary Zone Institute 2005.

The venue selected for the 40th RI Zone Institute for Zones 7A and 8A is Penrith, a rapidly growing city at the foot of the sepctacular Blue Mountains and home to the magnificent Panthers World of Entertainment, the largest registered club in the southern hemisphere, where all the Institute sessions will be held.

As usual, there will be several components to the Institute program, including the intensive training of incoming governors and a discussion forum for our current governors. There will also be seminars for District Trainers and District Rotary Foundation Chairs. The AGMs of various national Rotary sponsored programs are also catered for. These activities will take place from Tuesday 15th to Friday 18th November.

The Institute proper will be commence with lunch on Friday 18th and conclude prior to lunch on Sunday 20th November.
