Head for Panthers

Panthers World of Entertainment at Penrith, the venue for the 40th Rotary Zone Institute, is nestled at the foot of the Blue Mountains , NSW. It is the largest club of its type in the southern hemisphere and boasts high quality facilities from the adjacent Holiday Inn hotel to the extensive conference rooms, which make it an excellent venue for us.

Planning is of course in the early stages, but your committee is working hard to present you with new opportunities to make this a truly memorable Institute. There will be your usual favourites - great speakers, updates on Rotary programs and other topics of particular interest to past governors, plus several new ideas.

Two of the special features we have in store for you are a meeting of the Rotary Club of Penrith Valley on Thursday evening, at which RI President-Elect Bill Boyd will be the guest speaker and the spectacular arrival of the ARHRF Winnebago for your inspection.

The Institute will start at 12.30 pm on Friday with lunch and conclude pre-lunch on Sunday. Friday evening has been set aside for your reunion dinner and Saturday evening will be party night .

Preceding the Institute will be the usual training and discussion sessions for governors, governors-elect and governors-nominee, running from Tuesday to Thursday, with the Annual General Meetings of the various corporate bodies being held on Friday morning.

Registration forms are expected to be available by mid-July .

Your room is next door ..

The Holiday Inn is part of the Panthers complex and we have booked all available rooms in the hotel for the nights of Tuesday through Saturday. If you do not have your own transport, it is the only place to stay!

Because of the hotel's popularity, we will have to release any unbooked rooms in mid-September, after which room availability cannot be guaranteed. We therefore strongly recommend that you make your hotel booking as soon as possible if you expect to attend the Institute.

The fun starts Tuesday!

To help you make the Institute a real "getaway", special tours and other events will be organised for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. So why not plan to stay in Penrith a little longer and enjoy more fun and fellowship with your fellow PDGs?

The governors and their successors will be working hard, so, apart from the Rotary meeting, these events are exclusively for PDGs and their partners.

Getting there

For those arriving by air, coaches will depart from Sydney Airport for Panthers at 10am, 12 noon and 3pm daily from Tuesday to Thursday. On Friday they will be at 9am and 10am. Return coaches will leave Panthers from 1pm on Sunday.

Please book your flights accordingly, allowing at least 30 minutes to get from the plane to the coach. The journey is around 1½ hours. Cost-$20 per person each way.
