Information - Purpose & Rules

Purpose of an Institute

The purpose of a Rotary International Institute is to:

1. Inform accurately all current and past Rotary International (RI) officers concerning the policies and programs of RI, including those of its Foundation;
2. Promote support for these policies and program while also soliciting suggestions for improvements and innovations;
3. Inform the RI Board of successful program developments at the zone level which the RI Board may want to consider for further development;
   
4. Inspire, motivate, and inform governors about leadership and
   
5. Provide a forum for learning, discussion and inspiration, which will engender fellowship, and a team spirit among all participants.

Participants are limited to past, current and incoming RI officers unless by specific invitation. A representative of The Rotary Foundation shall attend to achieve the objects of The Foundation and update the knowledge of attendees.

Rotary Zone Institute 2006

The 41st RI Zone Institute for Zones 7A and 8A will be held from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th November 2006. The venue selected is Conrad Jupiters - a 5 star hotel and entertainment complex on the Gold Coast, Queensland - the top tourist destination in Australia . There is ample accommodation at Conrad Jupiters where all the Institute sessions will be held.

As usual, there will be several components to the Pre-Institute program, including the intensive training of incoming governors and a discussion forum for our current governors. There will also be seminars for District Trainers and District Rotary Foundation Chairs. Two golf tournaments are proposed on Monday 13 th and Thursday 16 th . The AGMs of the various national Rotary sponsored programs will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 16 th and morning of Friday 17th.

The Institute proper will be commence at 1.00 pm on Friday 19th and conclude at noon on Sunday 21st November.
